NOVA is a sculpture created for the central area of a housing development, and is yet to be built full size. The model I created is 1/24 scale and features bright lighting that is activated by motion sensors to do lighting effects. The form was 3D modeled on Maya and then 1/16 of the sculpture was 3D printed, which I took molds of and casted 16 identical pieces of cast plastic. I assembled these together and soldered LED lights to fit on the interior of the structure, with a raspberry pi and motion sensor powering the lighting. The LED lights were then taped off, the model was painted, and mounted to a board scale to the actual area of the housing development.
